A 25 year old girl from the US, who resided in the Upmarket area in Banjara hill in Hyderabad, was allegedly raped at her residence, early in the morning on Wednesday. The girl who resided on the first floor of an independent house on Road No. 11 in Banjara Hills, was reportedly overpowered by a man, who entered her house and raped her.
According to her statement she was held at gunpoint by that man, who threatened her not to raise her voice in fear, following which, he repeatedly raped her.
The girl was working as a nutritionist with an international NGO in Hyderabad. Police who were investigating the place stated that the incident took place at around 3.00 to 4.00 am in the morning. The house owners stated, that the girl came to them at around 5.15 am and then narrated the incident to them. She then called her friends, who later took her to Apollo Hospital, where she was treated with first aid.
According to the city Police Commissioner, Mr. A.K. Khan, police dogs were sent to her apartment to sniff out the convicts scent and two teams have been formed to track down the rapist. Sketches have been prepared as per the girls statement.
