Bharat Bandh Today – India Disturbed By ‘Bharat Bandh’

In the Back drop of ‘Bharat Bandh’, Organised by the opposition parties, India almost came to standstill.

It seems like the whole nation is under curfew. Police personnel can be seen doing the rounds of streets and try their level best to keep the nuisance causing sources at bay.

Businesses are worst hit by the Bandh. Business volumes are likely to be low as many offices in India are shut.

Meanwhile, In Andhra Pradesh,over 700 buses in nine depots have been cancelled as protestors stopped buses and organised agitations, officials said.

Among the major cities, Mumbai and Delhi are affected badly.

About 100 public transport buses were damaged in Mumbai and Pune today by activists trying to enforce the ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by Opposition parties.

Flights services in Mumbai has been rescheduled.

The capital is also disturbed, Karol Bagh and Rajiv Chowk metro station in Connought Place are blocked by the agitators.

The city’s inter state bus transit depot, Anand Vihar is blocked by the protesters.

Chief Economist at Aditya Birla , Ajit Ranade , said that. “The bandh affects the poor people who depend on daily wages. On a macro impact, if there is a total bandh the one day loss would be about Rs. 20000 crores if everything is closed for a day”.
