Considered to be one of the most famous colleges of Ahmedabad, B.J. Medical College is one of the oldest medical institutions in India.
The college was established in the year 1871 as a Medical School in Ahmedabad with just 14 students for Hospital Assistant Training. But, in the year 1951, the Gujarat University took the administration of the school in its hand and started related medical and paramedical institutions that includes M & J Institute of Opthalmology, M.P.Shah Cancer Research Institute, TB Demonstration and Training Centre, Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Center, Institute of Cardiology and other special laboratories and medical facilities.
BJ Medical College is affiliated to the Gujarat University and has an approval by the Medical Council of India. (MCI)
B.J. Medical College has given some of the best manpower to the country with 250 admissions per year.
