Amitabh Bachchan convinced Aamir Khan to be on Twitter to interact with his fans, to which Aamir obliged and opened an account.
Aamir Khan opened his account on twitter on 30th June and in a span of 12 hours he garnered 40,000 followers. On July 1, when he wrote his first tweet the number increased to more than 50,000.
In terms of numbers he has beaten Salman, Shahrukh and Amitabh Bachchan.
Sources say that Shahrukh generated 10,000 followers on the first day of joining twitter, Salman gathered 18,833 followers and Amitabh Bachchan garnered 37,500 followers. No one really knows whats the actual figures.
Aamir is following only Amitabh Bachchan as of now. His first tweet was a couplet praising Amitabh Bachchan.
Reports say that Aamir Khans fans are waiting for more tweets from the perfectionist. Salman and Shahrukh tough competition lies ahead.

Also, his Twitter account was widely publicised by various news channels which requested viewers to follow him on Twitter. Whereas, news channels are not even reporting about Aamir’s joining Twitter and generating record number of followers!
