Comedian, Drew Carey, is officially the new host of “The Price is Right”. He will be replacing Bob Barker who hosted the show for 35 and retired last month after taping 6,586 episode.

Carey, who spent 10 years on his own show “the Drew Carey Show”, hosted “Who’s Line is it Anyway”, an improved comedy show and is now host of the prime time game show “The Power of 10″.

Carey announced that he’d been tagged for the job on Monday’s afternoon taping of CBS’ “Late Show” with David Letterman.

Barker has stated that he is pleased with his replacement and that he had warned Carey to be careful of the contestants “enthusiasm.” “He (Carey) said he would close the show with my spay-neuter plug for as long as he does The Price Is Right”, Barker said.
