Duane “Dog” Chapman Honored
March 22nd, 2007
Hawaiian lawmakers honored bounty hunter “Dog” Chapman and his wife Beth for their endeavor to take criminals off the street of Hawaii. The Chapmans star in the reality series “Dog the Bounty Hunter” which follows the couple, their family and employees in their attempts to apprehend people who have jumped bail or are avoiding warrants for their arrest. The government also has another measure before the Legislature that urges the Mexican government to drop extradition proceedings.
Chapman, his son and a colleague were arrested in Mexico in 2003 for “deprivation of liberty” in connection with their capture of fugitive convicted rapist, Andrew Luster, the Max Factor heir. Rigorously fighting the extradition, Chapman could face up to 4 years in a Mexican prison if convicted however, most experts agree that it is more likely he would have to pay a fine of a few hundred dollars.
Not sure I’d risk 4 years of imprisonment based on what “experts” say MIGHT happen.
