A Maoist leader, accused in derailing a train in India which killed almost 150 people, was arrested by the Indian Police in Kolkata. The tragic train accident had occurred last month in the state of West Bengal.
The accused Bapi Mahatao, was detained by investigators at a guest house in the state of Jharkhand in Central India. Senior police officials have also stated that their hunt for the suspects are not over now, as they are looking for two more convicts who are connected with the case.
Even after the investigations, it is still uncertain that what was the cause behind the derailing of the train, but it is for sure that the Maoists have their hands behind the accident which took place last month. The accident occurred when a high speed passenger train got derailed and rammed into the oncoming goods train killing almost 150.
But now, reports say that the main reason behind the series of accidents in the same area due to the Maoists is due to the government’s negligence towards the economic development of the landless tribal people and farmers. As a result the Maoists have launched a series of attacks to show their anger towards the government.
