Rue McClanahan, who was the star of the classic series ‘Golden Girls’ died at the age of 76. The news of her death was confirmed by her manager. She passed away this morning at 1.00 am due to massive stroke.
She played the character of Blanche Deveraux, in the TV series ‘Golden Girls’ which ran from the year 1985 to 1992. Rue’s close friend and co-actor from the TV series, Betty White, told the media that her death has hurt her more than she had thought, she was her close and dear friend.
McClanahan’s condition was not to good this year, as she had undergone bypass surgery, due to a minor stroke before. At the moment of her death, her family was by her side.
