Known for his role as Jim Phelps in the cool spymaster of television’s “Mission Impossible”, renowned actor Peter Graves has been found dead at 83 in his Los Angeles home, on Sunday. Graves’ business manager has announced that he died because of a heart attack.

According to Sandy Brokaw, his publicist, Peter Graves was returning from brunch with his family when he collapsed on his driveway, before reaching his house. Apparently one of Graves’ daughters applied cardiopulmonary resuscitation but with little success.
For those out of the know, Peter Graves is a well known actor who starred in more than 70 television series and feature films. He’s mostly known for his major role in the 1953 classic, “Stalag 17,” where he’s an Nazi mole placed among American POWs in a German camp, but the most interesting appearance was in “Mission: Impossible,” the 1960s CBS series in which he played intelligence agent James Phelps.
